In fact, the first time we walked through this house, we said "no way"!! We can't do this. But then we went back and had another look with a contractor friend and realized that the structure is very sound, and most of the issues are cosmetic.
So we put in our offer for the house and the 5 Acres it sits on, and waited nervously to hear back. Thus, we entered the phase of negotiations with a bank. Frustrating, at times, but thankfully unemotional, and straightforward. After several weeks of back and forth offers and counteroffersthe bank agreed to our offer.
Work will commence as soon as closing happens in the next few days.
